Tell us about your first workout class.
My first class was at Yoga Tree Valencia in San Francisco, CA. The instructor was named Jefree Spirit. He really inspired me to pursue practicing yoga and I was surprised at the amount of flexibility and strength I had. I had always thought I would be unable to do Yoga, but I was totally wrong and was addicted from the beginning!
What is your instructor mission statement?
My mission is to build strength, health and serenity for my students, in and out of the classroom.
What can participants expect when they come to your class?
A challenging, total body workout with a lot of laughs and fun!
What is your go to before workout snack? After workout?
Before a workout I like to have something light, maybe a fried egg with avocado or a green smoothie. After working out I like to fuel up with a big salad and my favorite ginger lemon kambucha!
What’s your favorite exercise?
I am a huge fan of lunges. I love how they work my hamstrings, glutes and abs at the same time and there are so many variations and ways to make them challenging.
One surprising thing most people don’t know about you?
I never took at workout class until I was 27 years old. I never worked out growing up (hated gym class) and finally tried yoga at 22. It took me 5 more years to try out more traditional exercise!
If you could teach a class with any live band or musician who would you teach to?
This is really hard! I love mixing up my playlists to different artists but if I could have someone perform live with me it would have to be The Knocks for working out because of their high energy and great beats and for Yoga I would choose Poolside for their variety of happy beats and more chill style.
